Can you leave a propane attached to a table burner all the time?

My boyfriend recently bought a propane burner to put on the patio table he said its okay to let it attached but the guy at the store said to take it off every time but its a job to on do it everytime because its attached to the middle of the hole of the umbrella …. does someone can help me with this is it dangerous or not?

It should be OK to leave it attached, but the cylinder valve should be turned off when it is not in use. Do not rely on the control valve for the appliance as a shutoff when it is left unattended.

To be certain, you should consult the manufacturer’s certified operating instructions that came with the heater. If you do not have them anymore, get the model number off of the unit and go to the manufacturer’s website. You can probably download them there.

Do not trust the advice of salespeople in stores or even responders on Yahoo answers as the correct answer. Only the manufacturer of the appliance can tell you how it was designed and certified to be operated.

  1. From my experience, there should be no problem leaving the line connected to the propane tank. However, you should make sure that you turn the propane off when you are not using it. Turn the knob(on the tank) clockwise until it stops to turn it off. It should have the words "open" and "close" with arrows pointing in the direction that you turn it. That should be on the knob. Hope that helps
